Green Buddhas
On the fruit stand.
We eat the smile
And spit out the teeth.
To me, this is an example of a poem that accomplishes a great deal in just a few words. In only four lines and fifteen words, it changes the way you think about watermelons forever. It presents a different way of looking at the world. It makes you wonder, "Why didn't I ever see that a watermelon is like a toothy smile?"
